2nd Saturday ArtHop ~ October 9, 2010
October 26, 2010
The 2nd Saturday ArtHop October 9th was a feast for the eyes. My evening started out at the North Valley Art League where many artists were represented.
ArtHoppers enjoyed their evening as well!
Pastel painting below is called “Innocence” by Jeannie Thurman
Frank Germano calls his ink with wash picture “1906 San Francisco Fire”
My next stop was at the Oregon Street Antique Mall in Redding where many more artists were featured from the Shasta College Art Club. Various types of mixed media made the show, here in metal.
Live sculpting added a particularly exciting element to the show tonight…very fun to watch!
Chris Unger is the artist responsible for these metal sculptures (shown below).
These are relief paintings in black and white by Richard Laughlin.
This adorable young woman displayed her oil paintings (shown here) and some charcoal work as well. Let me introduce you to Caitlin Crady.
My hopping took me to Tapas next where I met Dejon Weldon. She is a painter, a printmaker, and a photographer. You can visit her web site at www.dejonsvision.com
The Vintage Wine Bar always has such a warm atmosphere, which was perfect to display custom guitars. James Russell is the talented artist who crafted the acoustic guitars below. You can visit his site at www.russellguitars.com.
There were electric guitars on display as well that were equally impressive crafted by Jason Schroeder.
Many, many Hoppers came to admire this workmanship of both Jason and Russell.
My last stop was to visit the featured artist of the month, Usana Weaver. This took me to Parmer’s Furniture & Design where Usana’s paintings were integrated into the beautiful setting of the furniture and accessories about the store.
Here is Usana herself standing in front of 3 of her pieces. She was such a delight to talk with. Thank you for being so hospitable Usana!
