2nd Saturday ArtHop ~ August 14, 2010

August 30, 2010
Chuck Rehdorf -photographer

Chuck Rehdorf visits Redding this Saturday evening for a reception showcasing his stunning photography. I enjoyed visiting Chuck and talking about our love of Nikon. He comes from Paradise and has such passion for capturing exciting images.

Enjoy!

More of Chuck's work.

The Studio Experience (www.thestudioexperience.com)

Study of Rubens, La Donna Vilata. $25,000, Bev Dearman, Artist. This is an oil painting, far right. Gorgeous!

Shirley Barone is another artist featured here at The Studio Experience in Redding. Shirley has such a wide range to her artistic ability (please see photograph below).

Ester Mapes presents her beautiful pen drawing, Self Portrait II.

Lovely and vivid is how I would describe this next artist, Michelle Young. The 12' x 12' painting at the bottom is called "Red Pansy". The other pieces are 4" x 4" canvas paintings with an assortment of flowers.

Another amazing oil painting by artist, Bev Dearman. This is a study called The Bridge.

Two artists are captured here: Shirley Barone brings us the photograph at the top, Giamo de Tuscany (features her adorable grandson), and photograph at the bottom is by LuAnn McBrayer, Holly.

The Traveling Bohemians

Joseph Aulde is a featured artist of The Traveling Bohemians who held a reception at our 2nd Saturday ArtHop.

Joseph Aulde is an artist who workds in acrylics and watercolors.

Feel free to view this artwork and more in watercolors through the first week of September at Bohemian Art Loft at 3304B Bechelli Lane in Redding.

D’Ann Bourne -artist

This artist is one of my personal favorites! Featured at Parmer's Furniture this fine ArtHop night was D'Ann Bourne. She is a very talented collage artist whose passion is working with texture and abstract forms.

D'Ann's pieces are featured at the Red Bluff Gallery and in Weaverville. She has had her work juried in California, Texas, and Colorado.

One of D'Ann's pieces I so wanted to take home with me! Perhaps I should go for it and invest in this piece. Just beautiful!

Judi Forney -artist

Driftwood at Twilight is my favorite by Judi Forney. The muted colors and the contrast between the wood and the sunset in the background grabbed me.

This is another Judi Forney called Peaceful Harbor. Judi says, "The style of my paintings border between surreal and romantic, but they always represent my unique perspective."

This is Storm Cloud Over Santa Fe, an oil listed for $650, by artist Judi Forney.

Vickie Wolf -photographer

Photographer Vickie Wolf had her first exhibit at Graphic Emporium. She brought such a unique display to this month's 2nd Saturday ArtHop. I was captivated as soon as I walked in the door!

Vickie's 'Our Mind's Eye Studio' draws the onlooker in to experience each piece of "famous landscapes and intricacies of nature" from their own mind's eye.

I was surprised to learn this was Vickie's first exhibit as each piece is such a representation of her passion and to what lengths she goes to in attaining each piece. She has invested a lot of time in each and every one of her photographs. I felt privileged to meet and talk with her this 2nd Saturday ArtHop night.

Hawkman Studios Art Camp students present mixed media.

Troy Hawkman taught Art Camp over the summer to some of Redding's most creative kids. The students were able to choose 1 of their masterpieces created during camp to display in August's 2nd Saturday ArtHop. Here are some fun examples of what the children created during their week at camp. Enjoy!

More fun Art Camp student work!

The young man who did this pen art is an original. It was great to meet you Cody, keep up the creative artist in you!

Another 2nd Saturday ArtHop in the books!  Thank you Adam and Troy for your continued effort in making this such an enjoyable part of Redding’s social scene!
